Praise to the Lord the Almighty

Praise to the Lord the Almighty the King of Creation,
O my soul praise Him, for he is thy health and salvation!
All ye who hear, now to his temple draw near.
Praise Him in glad adoration!
Praise to the Lord who o'er all things so wonderously reigneth,
Shelters thee under His wings,
Yea, so gently sustaineth,
Hast thou not seen how thy desires e're have been
granted in what He ordaineth?
Praise to the Lord who doth prosper thy work and defend thee.
Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend thee,
Ponder anew what the almighty can do,
if with His love He befriend thee.
Praise to the Lord, O let all that is in me adore Him,
All that hath life and breath come now with praises before Him,
Let the 'amen' sound from His people again,
Gladly for e'er we adore Him.

  1. A beautiful email from my friend Sue:
    Hey There Jennifer!!

I was thinking about you again this morning and decided I'd write you an email. If you're dizzyness is better, you probably have plenty of time to read! I wanted you to know that your old friends at CCC have been praying earnestly for you - and continue to pray. I'm so encouraged by all the people who have unified in prayer for you and how God is proving Himself gentle and faithful. My prayer for your surgery was that God Himself would be the hands operating on your brain, and that He Himself would be the one handling the bandages and that He would be the one even changing your sheets. I imagined Him even in the smallest of details surrounding your surgery and working through the gentle hands of the team helping you. He is so good and has encouraged a "small" part of the body of Christ in a major way through your struggle.

I'm inspired by your faith and your friends who have written such caring, loving, thoughtful expressions to you. Your blog is a great example of how modern technologies can be used for spiritual purposes! Even though this physically has been a horrible stinky circumstance, I pray that spiritually this is one of the best things that has ever happened to you!

So, the current "Marriage and Family Builders" group (some know you) and the current Mom's Bible Study (two or three you know) and the staff at CCC are all praying for Jennifer. I spoke with my Mother-In-Law and asked her to add you to her prayer list and she said she has TWO women in her current Bible study that have had brain tumor surgery and are now healthily in their 70s!! So, her Bible study is praying for you also. An army of prayers has been mobilized - God loves you so much!! I imagine the number is somewhere over 100 people (not that that really matters, but the idea is inspiring).

Praise God for the miracles He has provided you in just ONE WEEK! I pray your recovery is restful, quick and consistent. I'm also thinking about how great that first shower (or bath) is going to feel. I can't wait for you to be moving around some more. Do they tell you how long to expect being in the hospital? Are the headaches gone, or can you tell yet?

I love reading your blog since I'm not on Facebook yet - I know, I know - I'll get on there one of these days!

And I'm looking forward to "my turn" to visit you with a meal or something! If you get tired of hospital food, I can bring by Chipotle or something, too!! What's your favorite these days?

Missing you, praying for you, thankful that your strong faith and that of your family, as well as your honesty about your down days, is on display.

    Sue

  2. From Jeff's Aunt Linda (boogie to me!) -
Loved the ICU portrait of you. You actually looked better than the last time I saw you after 14 hours in the car with your children! Hoping, Praying. Thanking Him for all the "glass half full" news about you...81% chance of it NOT recurring, etc. You are a woman of great courage.
PaPa told me he'd spend some of our inheritance to send me there to help Tom with Johnnie and the boys. He has been on board throughout your week. His prayers alone probably would have been adequate, but it never hurts to over do it on occasion.
My love to all of you. Linda Powers

  3. Hi Jennifer!

The kids and I were praying for you this morning and I asked them what song they would like to sing to praise God for His mighty hand in your life and the lives of so many others that your life has touched this past week, and they chose To God be the Glory. I thought that was very fitting since I know that has been your and Jeff's hope in this trial. I'll just include the last verse, I especially thought of the "great things" that God has been teaching so many people about Himself and His faithfulness, and also of the greater things we have to look forward to!

Great things He has taught us, great things He has done,
    And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer and higher and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father thro' Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He has done!

"The Lord has done great things for us; We are glad." Psalm 126:3

We are praising the Lord with you!!
    Love,
    Sarah
